Dr. Amanda Hoke is the music teacher at Codington Elementary School in Wilmington, North Carolina. She is a National Board and Kodály Certified Teacher. In 2019 she was selected as one of the first recipients of the NC Governor’s Discovery Award to pursue learning in literacy and music. She earned her doctorate from Florida State University, and also has degrees from the Univ. of Tennessee, and Univ. of Louisville. As a professional flutist, she has performed extensively with the Panama City POPS orchestra (FL), the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, and the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra (TN). Amanda can be heard performing with the flute and guitar ensemble, Cypress Duo, and as principal flute of the City Ballet Orchestra (NC). She is the co-founder of The Flute Examiner, a publication dedicated to flute and flute pedagogy.
KONC is an affiliate chapter of the Organization of American Kodály Educators.
